Starting conversations of a professional relationship in 2019, the collaboration came to fruition in the form of the above mural design in 2020. Our work both in concept and aesthetic marries seamlessly. We passionately identified a visual language of color, texture, and figure steeped in Caribbean semiotics of gender, race, and colonization.
This work highlights 2020s focus on mastering the mobile studio, honing a virtual skillset, and the time management organization needed to overcome Pandemic obstacles. This culmination of ideas was wrought over several months worth of zoom meetings, time zones, and islands.
In coming years I hope to further develop specific skills surrounding the color palette, both in budgeting paint costs and in creating a replicable operations workflow. Concept wise my goal is to evolve the ideas surrounding databases embedded through ephemeral QR codes.
VLSC artists range from divergent multi-instrumentalists to immersive installation artists pushing the boundaries of reality, literally. As a constant, they seek the outliers, the ones attuned different, and the ones challenging the music system as we know it.
I was honored to be invited to collaborate on an interdisciplinary project benefiting and inspired by the fight against Voter Suppression historically in the US and especially during that times presidential election season.

Self Regurgitation collaboration with Matthew D. Gantt
In a hackathon-esque style this collaboration was formed in a pressure cooker environment with Matthew D. Gantt an artist, composer and educator based between Troy, NY and Queens, NYC. His practice focuses on sound in virtual spaces, generative systems facilitated by idiosyncratic technology, and digital production presets as sonic readymades.
The video format sonically and visually carries the viewer through a journey in and out, of the body, and time. The project guides the user in a DIY style through accessible Machine Learning steps that arrive at sonic self-regurgitation.
